The building has been spared the fate of the demolition crew, but not only that: now it will host a new edition of Madridcine - Panorama del Nuevo Cine de la Comunidad de Madrid. The series is to be held July 19 through 25 at the Cine Gaumont - Espacio INCAA Km. 0, under the aegis of festival programmer Carlos Morelli and Spanish Embassy Cultural Attacche Manuel Durán Giménez Rico.Madridcine will comprise seven fiction features, four documentaries, a shorts series, and two features as part of a retrospective paying homage to performers from Argentina and Spain.
Madridcine will feature, among others, Enrique Urbizu's No habrá paz para los malvados (winner of the Goya Award); Fernando Trueba's Chico y Rita; Gerardo Olivares' Entre lobos; and Montxo Armendáriz's No tengas miedo.
The programming also includes Emilio Aragón's El resto de las elegidas, scripted by Argentina's Fernando Castets, with Imanol Arias and Lluis Homar in the leads; Iciair Bollain's También la lluvia, with Gael García Bernal; and David Pinillos Bon Appétit, with Unax Ugalde.
In 2013, the Sala Palafox in Madrid will house a selection of Argentine movies.
